As a youngster Jason swam competitively for the Duluth YMCA and earned both state and regional titles. Jason Kask competed for Duluth East High School in Nordic skiing, Cross Country, and track for six years.  While there he earned a berth on five Midwest Junior National Teams in Nordic skiing.   During the summer months Jason competed for the Duluth Rowing Club.  At the Northwestern International Rowing Association Championship he won every junior title available before deciding to focus on skiing in college.

After high school he attended the College of St. Scholastica.  Here he continued to compete in both skiing and running.  He is the current school record holder in the 3000m Steeple Chase.  Along with conference titles in Track and Field he contributed to a second place finish in CCSA competition for the fledgling Nordic ski team.  Outside of team competition, Jason competes as a triathlete and runner during the summer.

In an internship with Endurance Athlete in St. Paul, Minn. Jason had the opportunity to work with some of the area's best coaches in the sport of Nordic skiing.  After graduation Jason worked with the Duluth Rowing Club and then assisted the College of St. Scholastica's Ski Team for the winter. He has also coached track and field at Duluth Central High School.

In December 2008 he became exercise physiology certified (EPC) by the American Society of Exercise Physiologists.

In his free time Jason enjoys reading, water skiing, camping, and racing sailboats.
